Here are some of the images from the Modern50 site. While working on a project recently, I’ve become aware of a publication I previously knew not existed. It is called Arts & Architecture. It is a magazine that I’m gathering from Wikipedia, ran from 1938–1967. I was reminded of this as I was perusing Daniel’s link below to Modern50 and saw that they were actually selling some copies of this. My would I love to find an issue of this. Just browsing these covers, this is truly a ridiculous amount of pure beauty in the form of a cover. Really, ridiculous.
So my understanding is Taschenwill be launching a book this fall on this. I look forward to seeing this. I’m wondering if there exists here in New York an old magazine shop. There existed one in San Francisco, on Larkin St. I believe it was just called the magazine. It was a ridiculously awesome old magazine shop with lots of classic mags in relatively good condition. Anyways, does one such place exist in New York? I hope to find such a place. Anyways, yes, I hope to somehow find one of these in the not too distant future. The covers are heart melting and I am very curious about the interiors as well. Here exists a website which is I guess, a teaser of sorts leading up to the launch of the book. And here you can actually purchase some of the issues if you fancy. Truly beautiful stuff. For sure. Rock on.
