Pentagram’s latest work on everyone’s favorite living room jam, Guitar Hero, has quickly made the blog rounds. Michael Beirut’s foray into a world of typically repulsive graphics yielded … surprisingly typical results from usually strong heavy hitters, (Rick Valicenti, Adam Larson, and Steve Wilson.) Despite this, one major elements stands out, the bespoke typeface Hero Bold executed by our very own Kai Samela. Nice1.

AIGA 365 29

We recieved AIGA 365 29 in the studio today. Designed by Pentagram and published by Cronicle Books. It’s the best in a long time. Finally, a nice, big, real book showcasing the best of design in a past year. More details and links via the Pentagram news feed.

MAD

One of the Method SF visual designers sent this out today, so Jay and LA, and I’m sure quite a few more of you have already seen this. I thought it was worth sharing with everyone else who hasn’t checked it out. It’s the new Identity and Branding system for the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) here in New York, created by Michael Bierut/Pentagram.
